ITS as part of Downer, and operating as a subcontractor to HEB construction, oversaw the installation of the fibre and power supply delivery, as well as the installation of the Advanced Traffic Management System equipment, including; Variable Message Signs, Lane Control Signs, Closed-Circuit TV, Radar and Loop detectors, new Road Side Control Cabinets and a Vehicle Barrier.
Work included design of ATMS, developing Site Acceptance Testing procedures, Installation, SAT testing, provision of As-Builts as well as providing a maintenance scope in accordance with NZTA requirements. This project required an array of ATMS equipment, some of which was manufactured specifically for the project.
The scope of the project included the following:
- Installation and commissioning of 5 Variable Message Signs (VMS) and 58 Lane control signs (LCS) mounted on full span gantries
- 10 new CCTV installations, both fixed and PTZ
- Installation of a remotely operated Vehicle Barrier Arm at the Terrace Tunnel
- Installation and commissioning of new controllers and cabinets; including all supporting equipment for new ATMS assets, e.g. DVTel, Media Converters, AT switch
The project further demonstrated ITS’s ability to provide expertise in delivery and installation of a wide suite products integrated into a fully functioning ATMS package.
